Drunk History of the Day: Benjamin Franklin’s “Drinker’s Dictionary” — a list of some 220 “round-about phrases” for “drunk” originally published in a 1737 issue of the Pennsylvania Gazette — is read aloud by a fairly persuasive impersonator.

Girl Drink Drunk remains one of my favorite sketches ever, and not just because I am so very fond of girl drinks.

A Little Bit on the Shaken not Stirred Side: If you need something to put liquids in and then shake them around in, this might be your new thing. It was designed by William Kellog for Philadelphia University’s and Kikkerland’s design collaboration project. Get it for $24.50.
Sorta shocked no one has done this before.

Here’s a tasty beverage I’m calling Hope Rides Alone: one part sour cherry cordial, two parts vodka, tonic to taste, and a single cherry. (I used an Ole Smoky Moonshine cherry, but any cherry will do.)
Many red cocktails get their color from grenadine or fruit juice, which often makes them rather too sweet for my taste. But this has quite a kick and only the faintest touch of sweetness, thanks to the sour cherry and tonic flavors. A good choice if you’ve had a really shitty day at work, or if a crowd of apathetic bystanders just watched while you were destroyed by robots.
Another one of your fancy Brooklyn liquors I’ll have to keep an eye out for.
And I guess there’s also date advice but who cares about that ‘love’ nonsense.
